ART & DESIGN

At Ivy Chimneys, we believe children are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum.  Art and design allows children the opportunities to develop and extend their skills; providing opportunities to express their own thoughts, ideas and interests. 

Children should be afforded the freedom to explore creatively and the curriculum must engage, inspire and challenge them further.  When provided with the knowledge and skill to experiment, children will feel confident to create their own pieces of art and design. As pupils develop their skills, they should be able to think critically and develop a greater understanding of art and design.
