DESIGN TECHNOLOGY

At Ivy Chimneys Primary School we intend for Design and Technology to be an inspiring, creative and practical subject. We encourage children, through Design and Technology, to learn to solve problems both as individuals and as members of a team.

By using creativity and imagination, children will design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering the needs, wants and values of the ‘customer’. Children are also given opportunities to reflect and evaluate their products in design technology, its uses and its effectiveness and are encouraged to become innovators and risk-takers.
