Term Dates

All the key holiday dates for the current year and next year are set out below. Please ensure you have made a note of these dates.

Schools are required to monitor and take action to improve attendance and lateness. This may involve attendance reminders, meetings with the SENCo/Head Teacher and the issuing of Fixed Penalties. 

Holidays/Leave of Absence during term time

Taking your child out of school during term time could be detrimental to your child’s educational progress. The Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006 have been amended as from 1st September 2013.  All references to family holidays and extended leave have been removed, together with the right for parents to apply for up to ten days holiday during term time.

The amended regulations 2013 prohibit Head Teachers granting leave of absence to a pupil except where an application has been made more than 14 days in advance and the Head Teacher considers that there are exceptional circumstances relating to the application.

There are only a small number of circumstances that are considered exceptional. You may find it helpful to discuss the reasons for your application with the Head Teacher before making your application.
