GROWTH MINDSET

Lots of educational research supports the notion that children with fixed mindsets do not achieve as well as those with a growth mindset. The studies have shown that those children with a Growth Mindset are successful in all they do in life and are happy. This is what we would want for all our children. With this in mind, we are working with both parents and children in explaining how to develop a growth mindset. We are clear that growth mindset is not a discretely taught ‘subject’ but is learnt through reinforcing and creating a growth mindset culture. We would like this to be a feature of learning in all classes, all of the time.

WHAT IS GROWTH MINDSET?
The term ‘growth mindset’ refers to a way of thinking, learning and taking on challenges. A person with a growth mindset is open to constructive criticism, takes feedback and uses it, takes on new challenges, pushes themselves outside of their comfort zone and shows resilience and perseverance.
